Pregnancy and Parenting Resources schedules forum Clarion University’s Pregnancy and Parenting Resources Initiative is sponsoring a forum to benefit pregnant and parenting students, April 16, 2-5 p.m., in Level A of Carlson Library. The goal of the forum, which is free and open to the public, is to assemble all of the major university offices that deal with students to coordinate a program of services to aid pregnant and parenting students. This includes, but is not limited to: health, financial aid, housing, counseling, childcare, academic affairs, and working out a coordinated program of services to aid pregnant and parenting students. Joyce McCauley Brenner from Feminists for Life of America will moderate and direct the forum. Feminists for Life is a national organization that has pioneered work in the area of organizing campuses to support pregnant and parenting students. The Pregnancy and Parenting Resources Forum is sponsored by Clarion University’s Office of the President, Office of the Dean of Arts and Sciences, Presidential Commission on the Status of Women, University Health Center, Women’s Studies Program, Pregnancy and Parenting Resources Initiative, Students for Life, Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance and Women United. A baby items drive sponsored by the Initiative started on March 26 and will continue through April 18. Items sought for the baby items drive include clothing, infant formula, non-perishable food items, toys and other baby-related items.
