APSCUF Fall 2008 scholarships awarded

Six Clarion University students will receive the APSCUF (Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties) Fall 2008 Scholarship. Each student will receive $500 to be used toward Fall 2008 expenses.

Sixty-six students applied to the scholarships. Criteria used for selection was: minimum 3.2 QPA, participation and leadership in campus and community service organizations, and a one-page narrative outlining goals and objectives for the future.

The following were selected in the qualified categories:

Child of APSCUF member, Peter Baschnagel. Baschnagel, a sophomore economics and mathematics major, is a son of Norbert and Beverly Baschnagel of Clarion and is a graduate of Clarion High School.

Graduate, Ashley Grimm. Grimm, a biology/pre-dentistry major, is a daughter of Richard and Jane Grimm of Sugarloaf and is a graduate of Hazelton High School.

Senior, Lindsay Pingor. Pingor, an elementary education major, is a daughter of Darryl Pingor of Delmont and is a graduate of Franklin Regional Senior High School.

Junior, Clay Nolan. Nolan, an elementary education major, is a son of Brian and Janet Nolan of Shinglehouse, and is a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School

Freshman/sophomore, Lori Secor. Secor, a freshman nursing major, resides in Franklin with her husband, Charles, and is a graduate of Franklin High School.

At-Large, Kristofer Gregory. Gregory, an accounting major, is a son of Marlene Gregory of Cattaraugus, N.Y., and is a graduate of Cattaraugus Little Valley Central High School.
