“This is an opportunity to say thank you to one another,” said President Joseph Grunenwald. “You are someone who steps up to do something special to help those who are here to have the best experience. What you do matters, people see it, and it influences their lives. Thank you for your work.” Tim Fogarty, assistant vice president for human resources, was the master of ceremonies for the ceremony. In his closing remarks he talked about a recently deceased employee and said, “Let me tell you what makes you impressive in terms of employees. Shortly after he started a new employee contracted a serious illness and did not have sick leave built up for use. His fellow employees, many of whom had never met him, donated their own sick leave for his use. When it happened a second time, he again received more donated leave time than he could use. When he needed help a third time, and was not eligible for donated leave, the employees held a fund-raiser to help him. This is what it means to be a family.” Individuals recognized at the ceremony included: 35 years of service – Lola Champion of Strattanville, University Relations. 30 years of service – Dinah Bowman, purchasing; Linda Heineman of Seneca, International Programs; Brenda Sturtz of Franklin, library services; and Ron Wilshire of Clarion, University Relations. 25 years of service – Jodie Hagan of Parker, counseling services; Lynn Peterson of Summerville, facilities management; Marcy Schlueter of Clarion, special education/health and physical education; Pattie Schmader of Lucinda, accounts receivable; and Susan Stephenson of Knox, Academic Enrichment. 20 years of service – Diana Brush, Career Services; Rhonda Clinger of Sligo, budget and financial planning; Donald Corbett of Parker, facilities management; Tom Cotherman of Shippenville, facilities management; Paula Herman of Clarion, financial aid; K.
